Lali X Lola were on Class Xtra with Zeal Nana Kweku Bliss on Saturday, February 24, 2024 to promote their latest song titled ‘Hello’. The beautiful song was released on Friday, February 23, 2024. The group is made up of identical twin sisters, Patricia Delali Dake and Trysha Wolali Dake with brand names Lali and Lola respectively. They are one of the fast rising artistes in Ghana at the moment.

The musical duo, who learnt how to sing professionally on socialmedia platform, YouTube due to lack of resources to afford a voice coach have seen a huge transformation in their vocal prowess over the years. They found comfort in Afrobeats, Afro-pop, Afro-soul, Afrofusion and Afro-R&B music as they have their roots to the authentic African sound. Their beautiful musical journey commenced in September 2021 although they have been naturally blessed with the ability to dance since childhood.

According to Lali X Lola, their dad encouraged them to participate in extracurricular activities while in school. This has helped the twins with some versatility as they are able to sing, dance, swim, MC an event and do other things with lots of confidence. As a result of this fatherly guidance, the twins have taken their chances in the music business and have done so well for themselves so far with a lot of prospects as well.

At the end of the interview, the duo asked for their music lovers to upload their photos on Instagram and tag Lali X Lola and hashing #25THGMAUNSUNG. This will help them to be recognized by the organizers and probably qualify them for a spot in the award scheme.

The prestigious Ghana Music Awards has been in existence for the past year. It has been the topmost award scheme in the Ghanaian music industry over the years. The Unsung category of this revered award scheme is one to initiate or outdoor hardworking artistes who have not gained enough traction in the music industry.

The 25th Ghana Music Awards is going to take place for the first time without its flagship sponsor, Vodafone Ghana. The organizers of the award scheme has called on the public to nominate their favorite upcoming artistes. Fans are to post a photo of their favorite upcoming artistes, tag them and hashing #25THGMAUNSUNG. The deadline for the submission is Thursday, February 29, 2024.

This year marks the eleventh edition of the journey of the mission that saw MzVee, Kuami Eugene, Kelvynboy, Adomaa, Enoch Barony, Epixode, Strongman, Kofi Jamar, Mr Drew, Dope Nation, Cina Soul, among other top artistes have had the opportunity to taste this great category. Last year, we had the likes of DSL, Tsaqa, Niashun, Maya Blu, Aya Ramzyb and Boijake getting nominated in this competitive category, where DSL emerged triumphant. It surely allows one from the underground to shine.

Lali X Lola, since releasing their first song titled Not The Same in October, 2022, have never looked back. They backed it up with three more singles titled ‘Ogini-Plenty Question’ in November 2021, ‘Love’s Complicated’ and ‘Johnny’ both in first half of 2022. They have gone on to churn out more classic projects. Their first body of work, The Journey Begins, which was outdoored in August last year at the Shield Lounge is simply amazing.

The ‘Hello’ singers also revealed the fact that the first financial recoup they made from their music business funded their studio equipment. They also have their little brother, Rappidd help with the music engineering bit as their dad, who they usually call ‘Dadager’ does the technical assessment of their songs before they are released. Their mother is also their stylist, which makes their music business a family project.

Lali X Lola have worked really hard and it will be a deserved credit to be able to be involved in the Unsung category. The pretty energetic twins have been able to perform on numerous platforms such as the Tidal Rave, Bhim Concert,Afrochella, just to list a few. This has made their candidature for this year’s Ghana Music Awards Unsung category a legit one.
